after reading some of your messages, wondered if anybody could help or give some advice. im a recovering alcaholic and addict, havnt touched either for three years on monday. my mum died 6 months ago. i suffer with depression but get bouts of feeling really ill. its always the same time in day. it starts with a strange feeling in stomache then weekness in arms and legs and feel like im going to pass out and i cant think straight. ive tried eating and not eating sleeping and not sleeping. when i do sleep i have such wierd dreams. ive tried staying in and going out. no matter what i do it still happens. it gets 100 times worse when im due for my period. im on antidepressants and hormone tablets. i have three girls and just want to feel well, otherwise what was the point of all the hard work. i think i have damaged my braine with drugs and drink. am i going crazy. jp

I don't doubt that there will always be some adverse effects from your drug and alcohol use. As for the antidepressants if you are having really bad problems with them that may not be the antidepressant for you. Many people have to try different kinds of medications to feel right. If they aren't doing well for you there is the possibility that you have other mental disorders that are you are genetically predisposed to. I would say head back to your doctor or whoever prescribed you the antidepressants and tell him/her about your symptoms. You are not going crazy you just might need something else to help you. And trust me, I wouldn't trust a diagnosis on the internet for mental health issues, its a very dangerous thing to mess around with, I would just go to the doctor.
