Hey

Awhile ago at a party I blacked out. I was told by people I asked--including my girlfriend, who was present, I behaved normally, and went to bed asleep next to her on a couch. This was confirmed by a sweet friend of mine who tucked us in.

Since then I have been fixated on that night, worried something terrible happened. There's no evidence of this at all, and for something to have happened beyond what I have found through detective work. I would've had to have woken up in the night after everyone had gone to sleep on my own accord, which seems unlikely for a drunk person.

Still I can't PROVE nothing happened. I'm terrified of the idea of a blacked-out me wandering around. The few other times I have blacked out I got into fights with my friends and did other really uncharacteristic stuff. This has bothered me for a few months. I have pretty bad anxiety- I often have panic attacks and have been worried about other things in this same fashion, like getting an STD or having cancer.

Anyone have any advice on dealing with this uncertainty? Besides not drinking (figured that one out by myself)?

If your close trustworthy friends tell you nothing happened that should worry you then you should be fine. Make sure you ask them what specifically happened and give all the details you can. I'm not sure if that helped but I hope it does.
