I only drink about once a month but when i do, its bad. Well on Saturday I was at a party and i had a lot to drink. I woke up the next day and i can not remember a thing, i try so so hard to remember but i just can't! I completely blacked out. And i keep getting told things that i did, yet i didn't know i did them. people have commented on the amount i drink before, but this is the first time that its happened to me. this has scared me a bit because anything could've happened to me and i wouldn't know any different. i read somewhere that only alcoholics black out. is this true because i don't think i'm an alcoholic.

Hi Wallflower,
From your description you are an alcoholic. As you say, when you drink "it's bad." An alcoholic is not necessarily someone passed out in the corner. It's someone that can not control their drinking. Since others are also commenting, you fit the latter.
Blackouts, not remembering things, comments from others are all clues. Heed what you are finding out for your own health and future. Just cutting back is not the solution, abstinence from alcohol is.
You don't need alcohol to have a good time.
Good luck.
