I have had panic attacks for last 10 months. During the day, I have been taking Zoloft to prevent those attacks and it had a relative success. The problem also occurred at nights, since I started waking up in sweat – fear again. Then doctor said that Ativan might help, so I am starting with it tonight. Can you tell me if ativan prescribed for panic disorder will have effect?

I know that my friend also had similar problem with anxieties. He said that he use both Zoloft and Klonopin and they did not help that much. The only thing that helped him was Ativan, which he used for sleeping. He said that he always woke up refreshed. So, I assume that it will help you too. If you think that Zoloft is not doing well for you, talk to your doctor, consult him, see if there is some other alternative.

Ativan helped me alot when I was in the ER for heart palpitations. The nurses gave it to me through my IV and it made me feel pretty calm, it also made my heart rate drop to its normal pace.
