Hi there, I am a girl who is 16 years old. I attend medical school and there is one thing I have to know. What is autoimmune hemolytic anemia? Tell me everything you know, because I am clueless. I don't have much time to wait because I have a test in 2 days. For everything you write I am grateful.

I will do my best to help you out. This condition is an abnormality of the immune system that destroys red blood cells prematurely. The exact cause for this is unknown. There are many symptoms but I really can remember all of them. Low red blood cells counts, shortness of breath, enlarged spleen, and dark urine are the signs for autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Doctors may try to treat this condition with prednisone therapy. If that doesn't work spleen should be removed.
