BACTERIAL INFECTION ~itching;burning and smelly discharge

am 23 year old. i went to the doctor and got a check up. they didnt find anything only that i had an abnormal pap smear. i had the smell coming from my virgina. i feel like if i can smell it everybody can. i was told to were cotton underwear. doesnt work. i have so much discharge but its white. that doesnt smell but i cant go more then two hr without smelling. i tryed everything. please help me out. i think it has to do with having a baby he is 3. but what can i do to get rid of this smell. when i come home from work and i smell my pants. it has a very strong order. but not like fishy or anything. my underwear is always dirty and i hate that part its so imbrassing. my doctor said there nothing i can do. am just one the the %of female that has it.

hi there just wanted to ask a question, i have recently had some kind of down below infection.
and a fever to go with it...
a have had anitbotics to get the infection away of back pains, i had no burning tho and didnt go to the loo to much,i have had UTI's before.
but know i have noticed last few during been ill and whilst i have been better.
i have had a bad smell and my undr wear is kind of covered in brown discharge, i thought it was my period at first but it isnt due for a while. please help me what can i do? antibotics usually give me thrush so any ideas, other the the docs?

Kendra, I do not have this problem but I have heard of a product that may help you. It is called Rephresh. You can buy it at a drug store. Use up to every 3 days. Totally natural. It helps balance your vaginal ph and it helps reduce risk of infections like bacterial infections. Good luck.

I had the samething happen to me. It sounds like a bacterial infection. You need to go to the gyno for meds. It took me 2 yrs. of infections and tons of std testing , even though I have been married for 7 yrs. I found a women gyno now and she is awesome she suggest after all sex, period and urination and bowel movement to wipe with distilled white vinegar, use a hairdryer on it be careful not to burn yourself but it works awesome. Also she treated my husband with the same meds she gave me , which the other dr didnt do.

i am 32 yr old i have that smelly discharged but its not so frequent...i have this fish smell 1 week already and i feel shy to go the doctor coz im not married yet...it was started after i had sex during my 3days menstrauation theres still some spot on it and i make sex...after 2 days i experiencing some yellowish discharged coming out from my vagina / dead fish smell...i was so bothered about my situation ...pls help about my problem

You should make an appointment for an examination as soon as possible. Only a doctor could tell you for sure what is going on and any STI can be serious if left untreated.

I am writing you this letter because I too had the same problem.
I started have this problem as young as 12 years old. When I had my period it was so had at pain also. When I got older I got so tired all the time also. I when to over 11 doctors who did pap tests and told me they were normal and they also blew me off. I went to doctor P. and he did a
pap test again and before I even got home they called me in for surgery
on my cervics and they took out the size of a baseball out of my cervics.
The doctor should me in a jar! There is diffently something in there and you need to seat down with a doctor and talk before you let him see you
and tell him he needs to listen and take care of this. To many doctors blow off women and it can cost your life. I will pray for you!

It is called a bacterial infection, commonly confused with yeast infection, the discharge is different. In yeast infections its like cottage cheese, lumpy and may smell, with bacteria its yellow, green or even brown, and smells like something crawled up there and died, it comes from spreading bacteria, example, if you have anal sex then go for the vagina, there you go. ppl's hands are dirty, your partner should wash up before doing that to you, also dont use spit as a lubricant, espeically if you have been drinking, your asking for an infection. there's yeast in beer. you need a prescription antibiotic from your dr. yeast infection kits will make it worst. also dont use scented tampons or pads.....good luck.

About a year ago i was travelling and i started to notice a really bad smell coming from my vagina. The discharge also smelt really bad although there wasn't that much.

I was late on my period and thought i was pregnant. i had also been having unprotected sex and was worried i may have caught an std.

My period finally came but it wasn't normal & as i was travelling i took ages to go to the doctor. When i finally went to the doctor he didn't notice any thing wrong with me (even after an examination) and suggested if it continues to smell i should to go see a gyno. (as this can also be VB...which i have also had and it is caused by many things such as using stong soap/body wash etc..)-quite common.

About 2 weeks later i was having a wee and i thought i was giving birth (or miscarrying). i had what i thought was a t.bag come out of me.....however it happened to be a tampax (which till this day i still dont know how i left it up there)....this was definatly what was making my periods late/less and the smell was horrid......You might not have the same but i do suggest going to see a gyno as whatever you have must be treated....as for me im lucky it came out on its own as i could of developed toxic syndrom. It always better to be safe than sorry and if it is VB you go on antibotics for 5 days (2 aday) and can use non smelling body wash and the symptoms should go)

I don't know if you're reading the advices of people here.... SEE A GYNECOLOGIST. I also had discharge and my OB gave me Neopenotran, i didn't have a discharge for 2 months but it came back after I use pantyliner.

I really need some advice Ive been getting bacterial infections back to back and ive been to the doctor plenty of times im all clean no std's I am a lesbian and since they continue to reoccur ive been doing process of ellimination no oral sex although my partner and I are clean still Im thinking its some bacteria in her mouth that doesne mix with my body. Ive gotten one after my period last month and now after my period this month. I take a probiotic cutrelle. And I take vitamins. Im in really good shape but I hate that I have to take that nasty medicinde one a month for 7 days. I eat yogurt which i will do more of. Im just so confused and uncomfortable now I feel like crying. I have a refill of my perscription to pick up tomorrow but im going to just try and see if it will go away with the probiotic. Its not too fishy but slightly and ive had these enough times I know how bad they can smell and how uncomfortable they can make you feel. I dont wear thongs half as much as I do I even reduced wearing tampons during my period. Im lost, confused, and if I dont find out how to get rid of this thing for a while Im going to crawl in a hole and pass out. Please help me?

I have the same situation. The first time I had the fishy odor discharge is when I had sex with my boyfriend. Then after two weeks I decided to go to a doctor because I still have that fishy odor discharge.. Then he gave me a medicine and that smell goes away. After how many months me and my boyfriend broke up.. Now I have a new partner again, before we had sex I already smell the bad odor same as before. I want to buy that medicine again but its not available in the drug store in this country where I were now and and in this country they said hospitals are not good and also the doctor because it's a poor place. I'll be back home after 3 weeks to go to my doctor . I don't want my boyfriend to notice that,maybe he already did. But what can I do while I am here? Pls reply if you know:(
