I had 3 cysts and my gland removed yesterday, not as painful as I thought after reading so many negative experiences. im really happy to hear you are all healed now and feeling has come back. just goes to show we don't all react the same way and just have to see what happens ourselves rather than from other peoples experience. Only negative is I am really desperate for a bowel movement but am scared my stitches will open as wasn't given any laxatives.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP?!?!?!
I had the marsupialisation for a enlarged Bartholion Cysts 4 weeks ago.. within 5 dyas if the surgery when I was brave enough to explore (sorry to scare people, but the immeidate aftermath is incredibly PAINFUL!) I noticed a small, non circular lump where I had just been operated on. this gradually became circular and subjectivly appears to be as large, if not sightly larger, them the orginal cysts. I'm totally confused.. how can a surgeon of created a hole yet there is still a large circular lumo where the pre-op cyst was (the reasin for the op!!)... has anyone els experienced this?
I desperately want to hear that this is apart of the recovery process but I'm so scared that it isn't (having said that - please dont lie!!)....
This has plagued my life for 4 long years, I thought that the operation would solve it (and before anyone says it I am aware that reoccurance is a potential, but I dont understand how this can be classed as that considering it never WENT and I have just gone through the agny of someone makng a hole so luid can DRAIN away).
Please help... I'm not so sure how much I can take of this its really badly effecting me.
Yours hopefully

I had my left gland removed five days ago. I went to a church service and meeting three days later and I went back to work today for a few hours. I had planned to go out of town two days after the surgery, but ditched those plans with the idea of driving a car for 4 hours. I yesterday and this morning for the first time and it wasn't easy to turn and look for cars next to me. Today was better. Yesterday was the first day I felt enough energy to actually clean house a bit. I walk fine now, but sitting straight up is still uncomfortable, especially in hard chairs. Slight bleeding still enough for a liner per day and yes, I have a big knot too, but it is going down a little every day. It appears that everyone is a little different after their surgeries with recovery, but I will be glad when the knot goes away. Numbness improves daily. I only took one pain pill the night of the surgery and none since. Ice packs the first two days and warm packs since, except I did use a little ice pack today after I gently massaged the lump a bit. It did increase the bleeding slightly, which is when I noticed an incision on the back outside area of the labia. Not sure why the doc went in both directions, but as long as she got it out so it won't come back, I don't care. I have been gently rinsing since the surgery with my bidet, which I would highly recommend. Just be careful not to turn it on too hard, like I accidentally did once. No serious damage though. Well worth it to keep the area cool and clean. I would do it again, but hope I never have to. I never had problems with the other side. Without insurance it is costing me from $3,000 to $4,000, which hurts more than the surgery LOL. I'd rather have spent it on a cosmetic surgery to make me feel better about myself, but it is what it is.

No drain put in mine. I think 5 weeks is a little long for you to still be having issues with it...unless it is a nerve damage issue..which is possible.

Hi - I had surgery 1 week ago, and had a similar recovery to you. However, since Day 5 post op, I've been bleeding a dark, sticky blood. Not heavy, but all the time. (TMI here, but soaking a pantyliner in about 2 hours). I'm traveling overseas tomorrow, and wondered if it's something I should go to the doctor about. My postop appointment isn't until next week.

I have a question in regards to this surgery. Mine is scheduled for June 16th. After the surgery, what did y'all eat? Since there will be stitches would think a low residue diet would be good. Don't want to eat anything that I will have to strain to have come out if y'all are understanding me. My doc is a woman who stated she has done many of these, in Pensacola Florida. I have a lot of confidence in her. She stated I would need to be out of work for at least 2 weeks, maybe longer.

I am about to have this same surgery to remove the gland. After reading all the comments I AM TERRIFIED!! The nurse at my doc office said I should be fine in a day or so and that i could actually walk in a 5k that I've entered 3 days later!! I have been dealing with these cysts for years....normally they burst and drain on their own but sometimes I need help. Does anyone have anything less traumatic to say?

My surgery is this afternoon (6/16/14). My doc told me I would out of work for 2 weeks, she will give me a note. Also, that I will be in pain for the first couple of days. They might keep me overnight in the hospital since I live an hour away from the doc office and hospital. She said this surgery may have a hematoma afterwards, that having bleeding is not unusual even when it's all sewn up. I will try and remember to post how I am doing in a couple of days.
