no. you must stay at home at least a few days then you can go back to work assuming you have a sitting down position. buy one of those donut cushions. it will be very painful

Definitely a donut cushion. I was out of work for two weeks. I was 100% miserable for the whole time. I could not put my legs together or sit or anything. The cushion was a life saver. It took me about 4 months to be completely recovered but now everything is perfect and there will not be another issue with this.

Hi, I used Dr. Moore he has an office in Beverly Hills and one in Atlanta. He is a great surgeon. Don't expect a lot of interaction with him outside of the office, but when reading these posts I know I had the right Dr. I had very little pain after and my recovery has been great. I am 5 weeks post op and have a little soreness in the area with some yellow drainage (which is normal due to stitches dissoving). He removed the gland, cyst and scar tissue. I had scar tissue that ran all the way to my left butt cheek and close to the anal wall. It was very extensive. However, my comparison is to extreme pain prior to surgery. So I felt better right after surgery than I did before. You can go to his website. He has a practice with Dr. Miklos. They will both be in attendance during surgery as one assists the

Three weeks ago I had Marsupialization done. I have had Bartholin Gland Cysts on and off for the last decade. None were too painful, but my pain tolerance is quite high. After the Marsupialization was completed, the pain was minimal and visually, my vagina went back to normal. I still had light bleeding for a week, but nothing too drastic. My husband was gone for the recovery, so no sex. I was told no sex for two weeks. Since my husband was gone, I waited three weeks after the procedure. As soon as he came back we had intercourse, and the next day, the cyst was back. This one is so painful!! Roughly the size of a tangerine and a pain level of 9 out of 10. This is coming from a mamma who had natural childbirth with no screaming or tears. Since this cyst has been coming back for ten years, I'm thinking excision of the whole gland is the way to go.

I had one removed on my left side. It did not heal right and a new cyst formed. I have experienced severe pain from nerve damage aswell as numbness in some areas due to the surgeries. I am in so much pain that I am unable to sit, stand, walk, drive, have sex, or even lay comfortably. My stitches dissolved prematurely after both operations leaving a giant hole exposed where the cyst once was. The surrounding tissue is not infected but swollen and extremely sensitive. My surgeon was not qualified for this type of surgery and it was my mistake for trusting her. I now have to seek out a qualified competent MD to repair the damage the best that they can. This issue has crippled me inside and out.

Hi Marie28,
Considering you're the only person that has done it that long ago I'd like to ask a few questions. What are the side effects associated with the gland removal? How long did you take to heal? How quickly were you back to work? Even after the gland removal do you still get flare ups?

I am completely freaking myself out,,, I was hospitalized 3 years ago for this mass in my groin area,,, no one knew what it was,,, not even the head of the hospital... well,,, it's back,,, went to gyno who sent me to oncologist,,, gyno didn't know what it was,,, he did mri,,, mass is large and believes it's the bartholin gland and wants to remove it. I'm 52, in good shape, but am so worried about all that I'm hearing about this. I'm a biker and haven't been able to bike for the past 2 months and it sounds like that's not in my immediate future either. I'm not married but in a relationship. Do you have the surgery and then wind up right back at work? I sit at a desk all day. Ugh,,, that's all I can say.
