HEllo !!
I am glad to see people happy with this surgery. I have read lots of horrible stories which make me so scared about going for the surgery. I have a question tho.
HAve you been experiencing vaginal dryness post surgery.
Also, if you are in ny i would love to know your doc s name .
Thanks,

Hello Bvictiim, Your advises and replies have been very positive and helpful. I had 4 marsupialization and two drainages (in the period of 7 months )and then finally my 7th surgery was for gland excision. its been about 10 months and i have not had any recurrence. I am still quite uncomfortable down there. Skin feels stretchy and i feel granulation tissue. Will this ever go away or will it always be this bad. I have also not resumed my sex life since as my last excision surgery took a very long time to heal. I now am worried if i would be ever able to enjoy sex or if it would aggravate of re-triger my cyst. your kind opinion is highly appreciated.

I need to have the gland removed and I am mostly worried about scar and possible disfiguration. My doctor says that having the whole gland removed will actually be at the end less noticable than a masupialization. What are your experiences? I dont want to feel disfugured!
thanks!

I am a Physician Assistant who just had complete excision 7 weeks ago. THe best advice I can give is to make sure that your surgeon has done this many times before and ask how many complications he/she has had. My experience was that I had a small amount of blood leakage for at least a month. I was living on narcotics for the first 4 days or so post op and didn't move much, but after that, ibuprofen was enough. I started exercising again, including running, at 5 weeks. I also attempted sex at 6 weeks and that was too much too soon for me and left me sore. As far as asthetics, don't be alarmed by what you see right after surgery. Swelling is normal and it will take several weeks to go down. Prior to excision I had failed the catheters and less invasive marsupialization procedure. I was having crippling abscesses about once a month for 8 months. At this point I am optimistic and relieved to not constantly be worrying about when the next flare will be.
Hope this helps!

I am left with a giant hole. And am scared to death! Idk where to go for help! This has been and is still a nightmare. I can't take this anymore..someone please help!! is this ever gonna get better? Hi, don't be afraid. I am recovering from my gland removal, and it wasn't as painful. Sitzs baths are a must and rest, do some research and ask your doctor how many he/she has done? it's been 3 months and I still don't feel comfortable having sex, but I wouldn't change my decision. I had to live with this issue for 10 years, and I do not regret having the surgery.
