Somebody mentioned at a dinner the other night that they have finally found the cause of behcet's disease. Apparently, it is the gene HLA. Did you know this? Has this been proven to be the cause of behcet's disease in all cases now? Please share your knowledge about the subject.

While it is indeed true that HLA-B51 has been pproven to have a strong link to behcet's disease, especially in Asian country like Japan, Korea, and even in Turkey, there is no reason to believe that this gene is the cause of behcet's disease at the moment, because there are other markers as well.
