Can you please give me any suggestions? My neck and shoulders have been aching terribly. At first, it only happened when I got up in the morning and then improved later in the day, but now I am in pain all day long, and I think I might need drugs. What do you think is the best drug for neck pain?

That sounds horrible! I think that I would try to find out what the cause of the neck pain was before anything else, if you do not already know. Perhaps you can eliminate the neck pain by treating the cause behind it, or perhaps you do need medication after all. In any case, you need to seek medical attention right away.

I would definitely recommend getting tests to find the cause, and trying a chiropractor. I'm on major meds (oxycontin 80mg 2x daily and percocet 10mg 5x daily) for severe back pain after a failed surgery. I, also, have horrid pain in my neck and shoulders, I wake up and cry from the pain, and they swell terribly. Problem is, while my narcotic pain meds help the back pain, they don't touch the neck and shoulder pain, so I strongly recommend against going and getting narcotics first. Ibuprofen helps some, but can't take it, due to stomach issues, so I mainly use ice on it when the pain is unbearable. Good luck!
