Birth control complications?

Hey. When ever my boyfriend and I have sex we always use a condom and usually a gel spermicide. I am almost done with my third pack of the pill. I have...5 more days left and then its my off week for the pill. We had sex last night and we decided to not use a condom for just part of it to see what it was like... I still used spermicide and I am on the pill. I originally started taking the pill for really bad menstrual cramps that would NEVER go away and I haven't missed any pills. I started feel kinda crampy yesterday (the day before sex) and then today when I went to the bathroom, I had what seemed like a REALLY light period. Like, still red but kind of mucousy, but like more than discharge. Sooo, what the heck is up with me? Do you think I am pregnant?? Or my body getting used to the pill still? Also, if my pill hormone levels need to be put at higher levels does that mean that the pills I am taking now are not acting as a birth control? Thank you so much
