Hi, I have been on the pill for about 2 years now. and quite honestly, its a pain in the ass. its hard to remember taking it every night. i have so much other stuff on my plate. i use a condom as well as the pill when i have sex with my b.f, just to safe. i was wondering if anyone here knew if the shot was any better or the same as the pill? ive only heard briefly about the shot and i was wondering if anyone has any more info on it. thanks!

I voted for Condoms only. Birth Control, in both mine and my boyfriend's opinion, is dangerous.
I don't like the idea of putting hormones into my body that weren't mine to begin with. There's nothing 'safe' about that. In my opinion, birth control like the pills and everything out there shouldn't have side effects. Side effects doesn't make something safe.
Condoms on the other hand? Hell yeah.
There's been records of Neandrathals(or some ancient people) actually using a form of birth control. But they would not have had access to chemicals to make birth control pills.
In my opinion(read: My opinion Only), birth control is like the flu shot-which is actually injecting the flu virus into your blood-in the hopes that you'll build a resistance to it-and whaddaya know, we wound up getting a flu epidemic irregardless.
Natural form of protected sex is good enough for me.

yeah i know, its bad for the environment. people all over are saying that male fish are changing sex because of all the hormones floating around in the water, with all the pill coming out in our pee 0_o/. thats so crazy. but im only 16 and getting pregnant right now is the LAST thing i was so do. my b.f and i don't want to have kids until later, much later down the road....

o_O Somehow I doubt that. Those certain kinds of fish don't change gender for that reason, it's actually.. how would you put it... I sort of survival technique. So when the hierachey of the females dies, the male takes her place and changes gender. It's actually really interesting.

My boyfriend actually told me(he is such a nerd xD), that most of the human population doesn't even use a quarter of their brain power on a day to day basis.
Back on topic though. No, I had my best friend that used the preventitive shot. It worked for her, not saying it didn't.. but honestly, when it comes down to it, I think about the safest(although maybe not the most preventitive) any women has for safe sex are the female condoms.
You've got side effects for the birth control pills, the shots, the patch, ortho evra(sp?)that ring they implant inside a woman's cervix(Which...is a really creepy idea to me). What I'd like to know, is how the heck those patches even supposedly work. If chemicals can filter in through my skin... I'm not sure how that makes me feel exactly.
The chemicals in this world are just.. really sickening to think about. Did you know, I heard on the news, the best preventitive measure against Breast Cancer is Vitamin D? Drink milk and sit outside for 15 minutes, That's ALL in comparison to going through 6 months and more of radiation and chemotherapy torture.

YEA! My sister has one of those. OR, had one. She was rushed to the hospital the other day because of stomach pains. Turns out the damn thing was strangling her uterus.

Can't even trust Spermicide. There was talk that it could help prevent HIV, now there's research being done that it actually HELPS contracting HIV. And forget the Nonoxylol-9(N-9) on spermicide/spermicidal condoms, those are just as dangerous because they do damage as well.

but the other day a condom broke on us. we were shocked, it was a Trojan! lol they so reliable. i had never had a condom break on me untill then. it ruined the moment so we kinda shrugged it off lol. i tried to take it off and i turned it inside out. and it got stuck for a few moments.

u forgot one the Implanon. i am on it and its great...u gotta be careful and not get that arm done when u need ur blood pressure taken but thats it. I was on the depo shot before but all that did was make me sick, have cysts and if u miss it and get ur period ur on it for awhile when i missed one shot i was on my period from december till april after 2 shots!
