Bleeding after first time, how long is normal??

I had sex for the first time with my partner. We've been together for over 3 years and he was very sweet and gentle but it still hurt alot, and I bled. But I'm still bleeding, and I was wondering how long is it normal to bleed for, and is there any point in which I should go see a doctor??? I understand that feeling sore can be natural but I don't want to overlook any problems. Any replies would be appreciated. C
