For almost a week all but one time i have moved my bowels, there has been some blood in it. I am 21 years old and have never experienced blood in my stools so it made me nervous. Also sometimes when I do go, I will feel like I am finished and there is no blood in the toilet, then some will come out at the very end of my BM. Any suggestions?

Has there been any other changes to your bowel habits? eg more frequent/softer/harder stools. It's not the nicest things to talk about but if you have not other symptoms such as nausea/stomach pains etc then I should not worry too much. This could have a perfectly simple explanation such as haemorroids. Do you have any pain when you pass a motion? If it is haemrroids, these can cause discomfort as you pass a bowel motion. Do you have pain afterwards?

I posted a reply yesterday about this but your symptoms sound classic. I'm not an expert, just a sufferer! There's a link someowhere on this site which talks about them too.

Another option is, if your bowel habits have changed and you are constipated, you may have strained yourself. The veins in that rear area are very delicate and easily damaged when you strain. The blood with be bright red and a lot can come out or should I say it seems like a lot! You might have teared yourself?

A more serious option is an ulcer but if you are having no other symptoms then do not worry yourself.
I do not know what the exact statistics are, but millions of people have the same symptoms you do with a small minority of them being something more serious.

If you are feeling unwell then PLEASE get yourself along to a doctor straght away. Get this checked out and get yourself treated for whatever this is. If you are feeling OK with no other symptoms, you may find this all settles down after a couple more days, if not - DOCTOR.

Remember I'm not a medical expert. ;-) Good luck.
