I am on the patch and every month when I get my period now my breasts will occasionally hurt and shortly after I will experience nipple discharge. I went to the doctor because this was alarming. My doctor informed me that when you are on birth control your body thinks you are pregnant so as soon as you get your period, your body feels like you have to hurry and get pregnant so you may start experiencing some symptoms such as nipple discharge. Weird, I know. I would still personally go to get checked.
