when my wife does the slightest strenous work, the blood vessels in her fingers burst and the affected areas turn purple.
what do you think caused this? She does not have a history of high blood pressure and has never been a drinker or smoker.

That's what I have also. I can remember when I was in my 20's it would happen every now and then. I worked at a hospital and one doctor told me to take Vitamin c- of course, I wasn't that cooperative with it. Didn't have too many problems until I reached my late 40's.
I've been an x-smoker now for approximately 9 years. Do have a history of high blood pressure and I think, no I'm sure, I have Reynaud's which may contribute to the blood vessels breaking. Thought I would talk to others who suffer from this.
