Is Bronchitis Asthma when the child coughs alot and wheezes ?

Loading...

there is no such condition as bronchitis asthma - you can get bronchitis and you can get asthma but they are not the same condition

bronchitis is an inflammation of the airways and can cause wheezing and the production of extra mucus which causes a bad cough

asthma is an chronic condition where the airways constrict causing the child (adults can have asthma too!) to wheeze and occasionally they close completely which can result in death,

sometimes when children are very young they are given asthma medications to help them get over bronchitis but they do not have asthma.

Maybe you thought of asthmatic bronchitis? It's a condition that has features of both asthma and bronchitis or sometimes they give this diagnosis when they are unable to distinguish which one the person has. That's how I heard. But bronchitis asthma does not exist. Those two are different conditions.
