Yes it is normal! Just think if you have had a paper cut, or any tearing of the skin, it hurts like a dickins with washing, water etc. this is the same thing. The hymen is a very thin piece of skin - with nerves and blood vessels so you will have the EXACT same thing happening down there as if you had a bad paper cut on your hand! Keep the area clean and dry, and do not have sex again until the hymen and vaginal opening has healed! i hope your partner wore a condom? NEVER try having any unprotected sex - even for a second! You can get pregnant at ANY time - OK?

Thank you, wary my head wasn't in the right place and he didn't use a condom /: but thank you very much! I don't plan on having sex any time soon.

Has it been less than 72 hours since this event? IF it has I want you to go and get the morning after pill (Plan B) There is a chance you could have gotten pregnant - from the unprotected sex. I am VERY serious about that! ANY unprotected sex can and will eventually lead to pregnancy!

Hey, I'm having a similar problem. I lost my virginty about a week ago. It doesn't so much hurt any more rather than have a very itchy, slightly burning feeling. I have the burning feeling more when I pee. Is it normal? If so, how long does it last? If not, what do I do?

I get that you are trying to help her, but don't feed her lies. You can only get pregnant during ovulation. And sperm only lives five days in the vagina. So you can't get pregnant anytime. And not every sexual experience (w/out condoms) leads to pregnancy. And the sperm has to actually enter the vagina/uterus too. Some guys can hold it in and dont cum until after they take it out.

How do you keep it dry?

Try wearing loose fitting bottoms or dresses as well as underwear that provide ventilation(not a thong), but a full panty of a cotton fabric would be best.
