Hi! I have butterfly rush across the nose and cheeks. So, I went to dermatologist. He told me that butterfly rush is symptom of lupus. He suggested me to go in clinic were I will have some tests. Also he told lupus is serious disease. What do you think should I have tests for lupus?

Hi! Typical features of lupus include a butterfly shaped rash over the cheeks, a skin rash appearing in areas exposed to the sun, sores in the mouth and nose, arthritis involving one or more joints, kidney inflammation, neurological disorders such as headaches, personality changes, organic brain syndrome, peripheral neuropathies, sensory neuropathy, psychological problems and other. The signs of lupus differ from person to person. Some people have just a few signs; others have more. These signs may come and go. Early diagnosis and treatment are very important. I also had butterfly rush and some other signs, later tests confirmed that I have lupus. I am on treatment and disease is under control. Maybe you have another disorder. Good luck!
