I understand your wanting your child to quit. I hope mine never smoke, I'm addicted big time. But testing for smoking on a job? Against all of our civil liberties. America is slowly becoming the land of communism. Tests for everything and you cannot do anything at all anymore, even in your private life. I understand not smoking in or near a workplace, but to tell you that you cannot smoke (or drink for that matter) on your time off, that is pure COMMUNISM!

Best post in this series...yes, control freaks are trying to (well, succeeding in a lot of places) control everything we do...how did the control of America fall in the hands of so many control freaks? Ouch...is there a revolution on the horizon? Probably!

Right on, best post I've seen.  I am sick of being controlled by control freaks and our soon to be commie government.  They are in too much of our business.  They should be stopping employers from violating our rights and privacy such as if we smoke off company time, what our credit report is, etc.

DOWN WITH ALL THE LAWS THAT INVADE PRIVACY AND DICTATE OUR LIVES!  The president is behind all this too.  As is the governor and mayor of NYC!

I agree with you 100%, and although I have been smoking for over 28 years, I would NOT want my chicldren to smoke! I tell them all the time, "please don't start"! However, smoking for over 28 years, makes it a VERY hard habit to quit! Doable yes, frustrating....of course. I am having a Abdominalplasty surgery on the 26th of July, after having a bad scar from back surery, and losing over 110lbs on my own. I WANT THIS SURGERY more than anything! I know I should quit, but most of me enjoys it too much! It calms me down, it helps me to NOT gain weight, which I have been eating horribly since yesterday. This is hard, not easy, non-smkoers don't understand. Sure, I wish I would ave never started in the first placem then it wouldn't be such a big deal! Right now I'm asking God for help to get me through this, I need all the help I can get! And teenagers, please don't start, really, you can find better things to do with your money, and they will only get more expensive in time! So NOT worth it!

As a parent of a 16 year old that we are desperately trying to get to stop smoking these posts are very frustrating. We have been testing him and have found that it stays in his system for about 5 days. So we test him about every two to three days. If he tests positive (even the slightest) he loses all privelages, everything until he tests clean. We will continue to do this until he is 18 if it makes him stop now instead of wishing he would have when he is older. Or so later in life he does not have to put someone elses urine in a bottle between his legs to past a test. Or even worse, pay his child $20 bucks for their urine. What are you teaching your child?? I watched my father die of lung cancer, a very painful death. My uncle currently has throat cancer at 54, not much hope he'll live as it has spread. I pray to GOD my child does not see your ways to "beat" these drug tests, but is likely he will...forcing me to have to come research topics like this. That's why they make these tests in the first place is for people who can't tell the truth. It's unfortunate that I have to look up website questions like this --- and I expect this from teenagers, but from adults? AND for those of you going to have surgery, it is not about beating a test, it is about risking your life... you can die under anesthetic, is smoking that important to you? How about this... maybe you should say (for all those kids that are reading your posts that are under age) "Instead of worring how to beat the test, just quit now and make your life a whole lot easier and you can live a lot longer". One more thing, it is my experience that a lie catches up with you eventually - one way or another.---so good luck.

I found it easier to quit after smoking natural cigs for a while before i try to quit. One time I smoke one reg cig that had chemicals in it and it was like crack!! Those chemicals are crazy and they do ad to the addiction badly. I did the electronic cig and that helped significantly just don't get crazy with the high nicotine ones(not the same but it helps and you can go down to the juice that has no nicotine at all but you still smoking. chantax ultimately worked the best best some people have bad dreams but i really liked the crazy dreams lol. I would take it just for that.

And to the above post-who are you to judge everyone else's morality. If you are testing your son until he is 18, that is your business as a parent and you have the right to do that, but guess what? When your beloved turns 18 he will smoke every day and all day long if he wants to because he CAN. What are YOU teaching YOUR son, Hmmm??

This is an old blog, so I may not get a response. I suppose if I don't receive a response, I can always begin a new conversation. My problem is this--I may be subjected to taking a smoker test in 10-days by a potential employer. As advised by many on this site, I plan on quitting smoking for 10-days, taking daily doses of AZO pills, Emergen-C and drinking plenty of lemon water and plain water. I am hoping this will do the trick. I was wondering though if there is anything else I can do to ensure a clean test. I do not want to carry anyone's urine for fear of getting caught or spillage. My husband is a smoker; therefore, trace amounts could be explained away.  It is my hope that when all is said and done that I do not go back to smoking. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello! I just took a nicotine test today (urine), and had the same question. I have been scanning the net for days on how to pass it, as I was a smoker 9 days prior to the test. I did two days of a detox system I bought at GNC. It had everything from garlic to cranberries in it and the pills tasted like death, but I did it. I drank plenty of water and stayed away from all second hand smoke. I have read everything from 3 days to 30 days. But, I think the answer to this question depends on the source. I am still not sure if I passed it though, so I'm not very much help at this point! If I don't hear from them in 3 days, I can consider myself passed. So, I'll post again then and let you know if I had problems (I certainly hope not!!).
