I had my abortion over a month ago. I haven't stopped bleeding yet. And the other day I had cramping and huge clots coming out. I had massive bleeding along with that, and the major clots are gone for the most part, but the clots/tissue coming out smells horrible! And now I can't stand to smell myself when I sit down on the toilet. My husband even noticed it while he was in the bathroom with me! It stinks so bad!

Is it safe yet to douche with water and vinegar? I've never had to douche before, but I'm sorry, I can't stand the smell of myself due to the clots. Any helpful info?

Douching is not the answer at all. You need to see your doctor. Smelly clots after a month of the procedure could be a problem. You may have developed an infection. If it is as offensive as you say, i would want to see the doctor who performed the procedure.
I had two abortions. I had clots as well, but they smelled like blood.
I bled for about a week or so with both abortions, then got my period within 5 weeks after that.

Douching will only help the inside of your vagina and only for a short time. It's the odor from the tissue that is the problem.
Call your doctor and ask him what could be going on.

I went back to the clinic I had it done at and they were quick to get me out of there. I expressed my concern and they made me pee in a cup, but never tested it, done an EXTREMELY quick ultra sound and said that my uterus looked fine. That was it. I told her that I never took the medication for infection or to close the cervix bc I couldn't afford them. She said that my period had started. That was it. And that hopefully next time when it starts it will be normal like I'm used to.

I was just hoping that maybe douching with something after a month would help for a little while so I could see if the smell returns theres a possibility that something could be wrong here. And the smell, honestly, for lack of a better comparison, smells to me like the WORST dog breath ever smelled. So sour, so....ew. I mean...I can smell the faint copper smell too, and I know that that is blood....but...the clots are what smell bad. And they make the rest of the blood smell like that too, for the most part.

You can take a douch if it makes you feel better (mentally) but it doesn't really serve any purpose. Actually douching is not good for women at all. The female body seems to do a wonderful job cleaning up after itself, we have our own built in maid service. Douching can really throw off your PH level, upsetting your body's natural flora and possibly causing an infection.

The only time i ever douched was after i had a real bad period, and like i said, it was only to make me feel a little fresher. Douching is not necessary after intercourse either.

Douching is when you introduce a non natural cleaning agent into your vagina. It is a liquid, sometimes vinegar and water, plain water, betadine and water, baking soda and water, or a medicated perscription from the doctor. They have all the froo froo scents on the market also, like lilies of the valley and freakin roses, yuck... Massengil is one brand that comes to mind. The soloution comes in a 6 oz. bottle where you attach a tube thing with holes in it at the top. You then insert the nozzle into your vagina and squeeze, the solution immediatly runs out. This is done whilst sitting on the toilet, for obvious reasons.

Ahhh...now you smell like a freakin daisy 8-|
Douches are not necessary as they can do more harm than good. Extra mild soap and water will take care of that "not so fresh feeling"
If you keep your hygiene up and wash your business daily, and after intercourse, there should not be a problem. There are certain times of the month when a women will have a stronger than normal odor about her, but this is normal. Anything offensive and noticeable should be checked by a doctor.

For anyone who will read this DOUCHING is completely safe! there are No tests that show water and vinger cause long term damage. Because vinger has natural acidity and bacteria it isn't causing internal damage. And you know what? It helps with any vaginal smell! You can also pour a little apple cider vinger in your feminine wash if you find you have a stronger than normal smell. The reason some people say douching Isn't safe is because it washes good Flora and bad Flora causing dryness and irritability. However, in the event that happens stop for a few days and allow your body to regulate. If you still have irritation see you gyn or consider more water than vinger. Ladies apple cider vinger is super safe and can have many purposes. Hope this helps all the best.
