I have been running for a 5 years. Since I have come a long way I have decided to run my first marathon. I have been preparing for it for five months. A month ago I found out that I am pregnant. I still want to run the marathon but my husband is totally against it. What should I do? Just to mention, he is going run this marathon too.

Yeahbut your husband is not going to carry the baby for 9 months and will not have to put up with labor, breast feeding and other things you will. The wonderful experience you are going to have is a true blessing. However it will impose such hard demand on your body that the marathon looks like picnic compared to it. Therefore you should not jeopardize it by running the marathon. Listen to your husband. He is right 100! There will be plenty of time for running the marathon once you finish lactating. Meanwhile you can still run but shorter distances. Once your stomach gets bigger you may consider fast walks instead. You will get the cardio and other health benefits while avoiding any danger to the baby.
