Can masturbation affect your development in any way?

I hadn't masturbated for about a week, and started noticing signs of my period (minor cramps and a lot more discharge than normal). I got the urge again a couple of days ago, and now I've been noticing almost NO discharge and I'm worried :-(
I'm the only one out of my friends who hasn't gotten it yet, and I'm really hoping it comes before I turn 14--but I don't want to stop masturbating, either...
