My BF has had one for years. It hurts him ALOT, and lately it hurts him when he ejaculates.
Urologist sez it's nothing to worry about, doesn't want to remove it.
Hmmm...nothing to WORRY ABOUT???......it's destroyed our sex life!! >;)
Any solutions?

Okay so I'm turning 19 in 9 days and I found my cyst when I was twelve. I've got years on you guys! I'm getting it removed I think. I'm almost positive, because when I have sex, it hurts, when I masturbate, it hurts, when I touch it, rub it, love it, it hurts. It sucks, but I am going to have it taken off. It's about 1inch wide maybe 1.5 long, it's pretty awesome, it's almost the size of the testicle to which it is affixed. it's not going to cause you to be impotent but I would recommend getting rid of it, if mine burst, I could die or something...scary but that's life, it just goes to show, nothings fair... I'm down with it, maybe it's karma.

I've had a lump a little bigger than a pea on my left testicle for about 4 months now, i'm 19. went in to check it out 1 month after i noticed slight pain, doc said it might be imflammatory and gave me meds. went back in 3 weeks because the meds didnt help.
The second doc agreed and said he didnt think it was cancerous, but i should get an ultrasound to be safe... ultrasound came back negative, so i guess that's good, but i'm still worried it might be cancer.. i've recently developed a bump and pain under my right nipple, and i'm scared that it could be cancer spreading from my testicle :X FML gunna go get it checked out in a week or so.
wish me luck

Those of you who are scared and terrified like I was, pay attention.
It turned out, after I went to the doctor, it was like i had 1,000 lbs off of my shoulders. Even if you do have cancer, the sooner the better so do yourself a favor and see a doctor. A computer and forum can't tell you anything except how to worry. I personally thought i had it based on online research, but it turns out i only had a sperm swelling, which is EXTREMELY common in the adolescent world. 4/5 people have it, so you might to. All in all, go schedule an appointment NOW!!!

Hey guys, Im 16 now and a few years back I noticed a lump on the top of my right testes which is about a 1x1cm's. It kinda connected like a baloon, like by the bit you would blow one up by. Im worried and embarrassed and worried about it ruining my chances of losing my virginity :'( Its quite hard and is uncomfortable to the touch. Sometimes It can ache after a run or something. I heard that you can shine a very bright light through it and see it shining through it is likely just to be a liquid filled cyst. And if it were a cancerous lump no light would pass through. Can anyone help me on this as I can see some light coming through?
Thankyou so much in advance :-)

I've had a cyst on my left nut for as long as I can remember. It is about as big as my testicle. I learned to not trip on it after a doctor told me it was a non-threatening non-camer risk "head and neck" cyst when I was about 21...about 4 years ago. But recently i am concerned about it again. First off, doctors can make mistakes. But moreso I am starting to get real concerned about appearances. For one thing my ballsack is lopsided. Secondly, i have bad gynecomastia, and I am staring to think the fact that I have had this cyst since I was 12 has something to do with it. (also had gynecomastia for about as long)
Does anyone else with testicle cysts have gynecomastia?

I have had cyst on my right nut for a number of years, but just recently i had terrrible pains coming from my right testicle, pains were so bad that i had to stop what i was doing. so i visited my family doctor and she couldn't feel anything and of course there was no pain that day, so she refered me to a urologist. He said there is nothing to worry about, had an ultrasound done, ultrasound showed a focal mass on the epididymis, so instantly i freaked out, visited the urologist again, had a full physical and still no answers, i was sent for another ultrasound a couple of weeks later, performed the ultrasound and waited for an appointment. In the mean time I was still in pain, and were talking about pain like someone just kicked your nuts none stop for 6 months, I have been in pain since Jan 09 to June 09.
I ended up getting a fever of 104 degrees f. for one week, it felt like my eyeballs were cooking, pain was unbarring. Went to the emergency room waited 2 hours(which is pretty good) to have the doctor check the history and ultrasound, he said it was a cyst. and had gotten bigger since the ultrasound in Jan09. he said it was probably infected, so i got 2 weeks of antibiotics, (20) tyl 3's. and told to see the urologist about getting it removed. two days later fever gone and pain not as bad. Right away i pushed up my appointment one month ahead. Saw the urologist and he told me to live with the pain, yes that's right live with it! I started to freak out and explained my story, he finally gave in to a second opinion with another urologist, and give a medication to take for at least 9 months, lyrica(Pregabalin) which is used for people who have seizures.
apparently it does wonders for people who have cronic pain. and told to wait. have been taking it for a week and still in pain. Now not only am i in pain but also feeling weird.
I am 25 going on 26, now in july with horrible pain for 7 months, feeling weird because of medication and a doctor that does not want to remove it.
I'm going nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to add some comfort in numbers, I came across this post and thought i would reply as well. I have had mine on both sides for about 11 years - I'm 38 now. They were a little bigger than a pea for years, now one side is almost a small marble. I also had an ultrasound done, which is no big deal at all - get it done if you are worried. When I went back to my doc to discuss the results he did the shine the light through it to show that light does pass through it further proving it was just a cyst.
As far as the pain goes - it is painful sometimes. It is usually when i jump off something, like the back of a truck. The jarring motion feels like i get kicked in the nuts, then it passes in a few seconds. It does affect the sex life as well a little depending on what she likes to do - haha. Every once in a while you have to say - take it easy a little... That part sucks - pun intended!
I was told there is always some risk with any attempt to remove it - so i figured I will wait until after i have kids then have it done. Mine arent as large as some of you have said, so that may affect my dicision of course.
I hope adding this may help someone a bit.

Any kind of cyst should be able to be removed by antibiotics and such as they can do in women. So if thats an option then it should be alot easier.

That is called a varicocele and can lead to infertility, he should have it fixed if he ever wants to have kids. The vein contains too much blood which makes the sack overheat and cook his little soldiers.

Back in 2000, i noticed pain in my left ball, i didn't think alot at the time, but when in the bath i felt around just to on the safe side, i felt a lump and thought oh my god, i went to the doctor like many on here, he sent me to the hospital, there said it was a cyst and i could have it removed if the pain got worse.
9 years have passed now, and it hurts like hell some days, i find that wearing support pants in the day and at night help loads.
Summer months are the worse, because of sweat and it makes the bad ball ache badly.
If you notice a lump - dont ignore it, get it checked out.
