I would like to know if having x-rays can cause my period to be late or irregular.

Yes, even going thru security scan at airports or metal detector at a Broadway play have affected my cycle. I discovered this about 20 years ago, My menstral cycle is so on the money (27 or 28 days) that I have scheduled all my vacations and weekend get always by it. I had a tubal ligation 20 years ago and periods remained on schedule until A year later a chiropractor required I get X-rays. He asked me if I was pregnant or when my last period was. I told that I could be peg ant because I had my tubes tied and it was safe for me to get the X-ray. Well, I didn't get my period on the due date nor the day later or a week later. I thought I was pregnant. After several negative pregnancy tests and Doctor visit I wasn't pregnant. I skipped a whole month, then my period was back on schedule as usual until I had another X-ray for a different issue and it happened again, skipped a month. Now I even refuse unnecessary dental X-rays when going for a simple cleaning because even with the protective shield it will still stop my period for a month.

Yeah, I had an X-ray on January 4th and my period started the day after the X-ray, 8 days early.

I hax an xray done the day be for I had my period and the next day I started my monthly but I would bleed one day and then stop and it kept doing this for almost a week tell it stoped is that normal.

I'm starting to think x-rays do effect your period. I started my period 3 days ago and this morning I had x-rays for lower back pain issues and my period has completely stopped . Crazy stuff!

This has happened 2 me 2x now. Both times it started my period 5-10 days early and I'm always on schedule. If X-rays are bad for an unborn fetus how could it not be bad for our reproductive organs? I fear for my remaining eggs.

I had a xray done on the 2nd of dec for a back problem i had and was suppose to start my period on the 13 dec and havent started yet i so badly want to take a pregnancy test as my husband and i have been trying for 3 years for a baby and have started ivf but have a 2 year waiting before we can go ahead so im really hoping im pregnant but reading these comments makes me think it qas my xray that has stopped my period
