Hi. I am a guy who has a sister 32 years old. She has myopathy. We realized it just recently, and now we are collecting data to learn as much on the disease as we can. I would be grateful if someone could explain me anything you know about this condition. What are its causes? Thanks in advance.

Myopathy is a neuromuscular disease where the muscle fibers do not function for some reasons, resulting in muscular weakness. The primary weakness of the condition is in the muscle. As for the probable causes, there is so, so, so much of them. Few of the possible ones: hypothyroidism, amyloidosis, carnitine deficiency, hypokalaemia and many others. Do a search online. I am sure you will find something useful. Best wishes.
