I would like to know where else in the body are epithelial cells beside our chest, what is their function, shape…etc. I am interested about them, because I found out that they are usually involved with asthma patients. Thank you sincerely.

I hope you find this informative enough for you. Epithelium tissues are consisted of epithelial cells .Epithelium can be found in endothelium, skin, cornea, lungs (I guess you meant on lungs when you said chest), and gastrointestinal tract. Their function is secretion which is main function, absorption and protection and their classification is based on: shape, number of layers and specialization. Shapes are: squamous, cuboidal, and columnar. Stratification: simple, stratified, pseudostratifield and transitional. And finally specialization: keratinization/cornification, ciliated, brush border/microvilli and stereocilia.
