I had first steriod injection yesterday for c6 and c7. Hurt during procedure and had pain down back of arms, got instant headache, and about 3:30 this morning had acid reflux and threw up. Have headache still and face hurts.  Was really wore out yesterday and slept for hours.  I had a lumbar injection in Novemver L4 and L5, got very puffy face and swelling all over. Feels like it is wearing off already, due to have another one Dec.18 if these don't work I am not going to have anymore, I had a rizotomy in 2011 burning of the nerve on right side for occipital pain and the doctor yesterday said I should have one on left now since I now have bilateral oppipital pain.  Just having all kinds of fun. Not working anymore, have fibro, spinal stenosis, disc degereration, bulged pinched nerves. Fibromyalgia, inflammation of cartilge in between ribs and pain in chest inflammation, very painful and hard to breathe, IBS, acid reflux, constant headaches, pain and achy all over. Twisted pelvis, pain into groin, thigh form hip, and pain down right leg to toe, numbness and stiff buring in toes.  Had MRI on hip yesterday, lumbar last month and neck in 2010 and 2012. Have anxiety disorder, depression and PTSD.  Alot of this is stemming from bad childhood, but repetitive stress injury to neck and shoulder work related. Also have spastic bladder due to fibro, it is attacking muscles in my body.  Denied SSDI two times, now have a attorney that is taking the case have a hearing within three months.

yes, I had my 3rd spinal injection 3 days ago and I feel like I am getting ready to crawl out of my own skin, short tempered, shaky, upset stomach and just out of my normal. Not sure how to feel about it either.

I had my first injection one week ago. The pain in my neck and shoulder have been eliminated. That part is great but somehow my hearing seems to have been affected. My head feels like it is underwater. has anyone else experience this proble?

I have had 2 sets if cervical epideral injections 6 months apart as I couldn't have the 3rd injection the first time due to another accident. I had weight gain, my face looked more rounded and strange on the sides of my face, numbness in both hands, headaches, neck pain and a chronic rash called flushing on my face, thighs and buttocks plus weight gain of 15 lbs and I'm short 5 foot not a good feeling at all. Now I recently had a facet joint injection then a rhizotomy. I complained about the rash again before taking the rhizotomy so they gave me benadryl before and I still got the flushing face, thighs, buttocks and now on my upper arms. When I called to complain over a week ago they told me to take benadryl for 3 days.....I am probably going to have another round on the left side of my neck and just CRINGE....THE PAIN ONLY AFTERNOON THE facet joint injection for almost a week was unbearable and then the rhizotomy total effect can take 2 to 3 weeks to see effect. I just want the rash yo be gone. And my pain doctor did let me know these side effects were common except the weight gain but come on STEROIDS you will have weight gain. With lent here I have been eating less and not snacking and have finally lost the 15 lbs(the last 5 by quitting soda)fjnally but I am HUNGRY all the time!

Today is actually the 2nd week since my first injection and I can tell the difference in my pain level but there are side effects, that wasn't discussed with me. I've been having the sensitive skin (bruising easily), weakness, emotional, lethargy, extreme nausea (which I absolutely hate), tiredness, cramping, and the not feeling myself. If this is what I have to look forward to after each injection, we need to look for another solution, or I will just live with my pain because this is entirely to much for a person to handle.

Marteeny,
I am literally having the exact same long list of issues. I had 2 rounds of cervical facet joint injections on 12/19/14 and 1/6/15 then denervation on 1/21/15. My pain persisted so on 2/23/15 I had my first cervical epidural injection and the 2nd was just done on 3/23/15. Like I said, my laundry list of side effects are the exact same you are experiencing and it's driving me crazy. All I want to do is lay in bed because I can't tolerate the way I feel with all those symptoms compounded on top of each other. I hope your symptoms have resolved since you posted this.

I had the cervical blocks on my c5 and c6 back in 2013 and after that I had a horrible migraine, tingling sensation on my head and face so called my pain management that did them and he said that he never has had any other patients come in with any of these symptoms so he simply told me to go to the hospital. After an MRI and other testing nobody could really come up with anything other than stating it was degenerative changes in my neck, they gave me migraine medication and was in there for 3 days with no end in sight up to this day. I've been to many drs and they haven't found a real answer but today I was told that I have a tumor almost 4cm behind my thyroid that was NOT there prior to these injections. Now I'm having to deal with parathyroid and surgery soon, I still get the tingly feeling and migraines now and have not been myself since. It's been horrible. I honestly think the dumb Dr hit a nerve of some sort and didn't wanna take the blame. I do not recommend them at all but totally up to you. Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless

I had a cervical epidural injection yesterday and I thought I was going to DIE! First off, I went in and they put an iv in my arm which bled all over (I took a picture of it while I was waiting) and then the doctor came in and said I didn't need an iv because it as it was a simple procedure. They had told me not to eat or drink 6 hours before because I was supposed to get the iv. Anyway, I listened to him and didn't demand it. l lay on the surgical table then was told to tuck my arms underneath myself, with the bleeding iv. So I lay there and he said he was giving me the lidocaine shots. Those were tolerable. But then he put the first needles into my neck without waiting for the shots to numb me. I am usually am good patient but that made me actually groan in pain. Then I had these needles in my back for about 10 mins. while they were shooting dye and x raying. Then he said he was going to inject the medication. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced in my whole lifetime! I have even been in labor and had broken bones before, this was nothing like it. It felt like I was being stabbed very slowly and deep in my neck where I was sore anyway. I cried through the pain which lasted for a very long time, they sat me up and I couldn't breath. It was like a heat wave went through my body. I started to feel like I was floating above myself then finally when someone started to rub my back, I came back from floating and my skin turned bright red and I dripped in sweat through my whole body and clothing. They had to ice my body down then I finally could start to breath slowly again. The nurses walked me back into the room and the Doctor never came back in to see if I was okay, I was still crying in pain for an hour afterwards. Even the guy in the surgical room that had to hold my legs down kept asking me if I was okay and the doctor just left the room. The nurse came back in and said I looked better because I looked awful in the surgery room. I came home traumatized and finally went to sleep after pain meds till today. I am still in pain and don't feel any relief from this at all so far. I don't recommend to mess with your neck at all, especially without an iv sedation. It was the worst day of my life.
