I have had spinal surgery to repair a fracture at the thoracic and lumber junction. This was in May 2012 and I am experiencing severe pain and immobility, I want to ask if this condition is going to affect my mobility long term or if I have a chance of getting back to a reasonable level of mobility? I am almost 61 years old and the thought that I am going to be in this much pain and suffering makes me wonder if my life is going to be worth living.

Well i haven't have any surgery like your's but i know some story that i have read. buy the way i am assisting orthopedics surgeon here in Philippines we are a distributor of spine implants and i am the technical, base on my study it is normal to feel pain after a general surgery but it should at least decrease pain as days goes by. expect the mobility in your thoracic and lumbar region will not be as like as before take not that the surgery fuses your vertebra and it will decrease your mobility. i suggest you go for PT and ask about it i think it can help you a lot to how ever increase your mobility. i know i am not in the position to tell you this but if i were the one i will deal with the pain and fight the good fight our god has many ways just pray and have your faith in him.. thank you and hope for your best luck and blessings please keep posting for your updates...
