I find the need to smooth things out by biting pretty interesting in that it may be a form of compulsive personality disorder. I go through periods of biting, have been diagnosed with general anxiety, and tend to have other compulsive behaviors. Not a doctor but I find the connection interesting.

Chewing gum is the ideal treatment for cheek biting. I recommend sugarless chewing gum because it is also good for your teeth.

I too have a horrible biting disorder. My boyfriend thinks I am crazy. I leave bite marks on him. It sounds nuts, I need help. I used to bite my nails as far down as I could, but I finally broke the habit. I also bite cheeks. As odd as it is to say, they are my favorite. I'm not sure what to do?
