in September 2011 my 68 yr old wife of 42 years underwent a cervicle anterior discectomy and fusion.  While the pain relief was satisfactory she developed chronic severe nausea without vomiting.  She has lost 20% of her weight and currently weighs only 90 pounds.  She is losing weight because she cannot eat.  We we prescribed Reglan for 5 months with some success for the first 4 months.  Things have gotten worse and we are now tapering off of the Reglan and looking for some guidance.  We've been to the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale, FL with no resolution or diagnosis.  She has had an MRI on her brain which showed no irregularities.  She has had the stomach emptying test and passed.  She has had several MRI's on her abdomen.  She has had upper endoscopy and lower endoscopy.  We still have no answers.  Our current treatment is Merinol 5 mg two times a day and there seems to be no reduction in her nausea.  We are willing to go anywhere and see anyone who can help her.  I don't know how much longer she will be able to avoid a surgically implanted feeding tube.  Our quality of life is very poor.  If you can help, please do.
