Hi There,
I would really like some advice... I'm not sure if all of this is related or not, but I'm beginning to worry that it is.
I'm a 27 year old male, around 6ft2 and 200lbs with no previous bad health conditions.
Around a month ago I started getting issues with my throat and ear. I have a feeling of pressure in my right ear, that has not worsened or got better since. It is not painful, but it is noticeable. Trying to clear my ears using the scuba divers technique does not equalise the pressure. I put this down to allergies. I have rhinitis and whenever I fly my right ear hurts and takes around 12hrs after landing to get rid of the pressure in my right ear. Also, around the same time, my right gland in my neck, just to the side of my throat is larger, and harder than the left one, I also felt a lot of phlegm in my throat, but it was totally clear and just seemed like a sticky saliva - since I started taking Claratin this got much better, but my ear and gland stayed the same, although it is almost un-noticeable. I was also incredibly stressed around that time and so I thought that may have had something to do with it.
I have also recently, over the last couple of weeks, noticed that I am urinating more frequently than I would expect. This seems to go up and down on a daily basis.
Now over the last week, I have noticed I am getting a very mild ache from my testicles / scrotum area, and my right testicle seems bigger (maybe around 25% bigger) than the left. The ache comes and goes, but I seem to get it more when I am sat at my desk at work. My trousers may be a little tight. Could this cause it? I have examined myself a few times and have noticed nothing other than a size difference, and the ache. No tenderness, lumps, etc..
I had Chlymidia about 9 months ago, but took anti-biotics - could this be the cause - I guess it may not have gone!?!
I would love your advise. I haven't yet been to a doctor as I am waiting for health insurance to kick in - it should start within a few days, and I will certainly go when I am able to.
Thanks

Hi there! I wouldn’t relate your throat and ear problems with testicles. I think they are two separate things. However, I am not a doc, so you better check with one.
You should definitely get this testicle swelling checked as soon as your insurance kicks in. The urination frequency, testicle ache and testicular swelling may be related and it could be due to bacteria. However, bacterial infections usually cause acute symptoms like strong pain, swelling in the testicles, testicular lump and even fever. I know because I have been through it and the pain was unbearable. I had inflammation of the epididymis around testicles and it was caused by ordinary bacteria but epididymitis can be caused by Chlamydia as well.
In some cases, Chlamydia in men may lead to nongonococcal urethritis but the symptoms of NGU don’t resemble your symptoms. The symptoms of NGU are mucus discharge or pus from the penis and possibly pain during urination.
