Hey guys, I recently (within the past two years) started having this issue... Found that exercising (swimming) a lot makes it go away. (increasing the blood flow could have something to do with it)
Anyways, I also recently had a varicelectomy, which for me means I was infertile (low semen count) due to an arterial disfunction that was pumping blood the wrong way into my testicles. About 15% of guys have this but 50% + of all infertile guys have this. i.e. it does not necessarily cause infertility but if your infertile it's probably being caused by a vericolcele. I got that fixed, got fertile, (yay!) but actually found this tapioca semen issue has increased exponentially as a result. So guys, if your worried that it is a result or cause of infertility, that is definitely not the case. My theory it that it is an effect or side effect of your body synthesizing protein to make semen. So, if you have "the chunks," at least you know your organs are working.

My husband has the same problem and describes it himself as looking like tapioca pudding. I keep telling him it's normal and he's not the only one with this problem. We are trying to conceive and haven't been able to and it's all my fault and he keeps saying something is wrong with HIM. Maybe I should show him this so he will listen to me.

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in. I just experienced this the other day for the first time and it concerned me. So I searched the internet and found this thread. In reading it, I see several mentions of a diet with high protein. Well, I recently joined a gym and diet is definitely focused on. I've been drinking protein shakes daily and sometimes several shakes per day. I'm now thinking the high protein intake could be the cause of this.

I have had this issues for about 9 years now. I find it isn't so bad if I ejaculate daily, but the more time I abstain, the bigger the chunks and more painful it is coming out. Sometimes theres so much chunkiness it feels like a logjam coming through the penis. I am completely infertile and cannot have kids. I cannot prove it, but I believe my infertility is caused by this issue. I like the rest have been so its normal. It is not normal, I don't care who says it is and I believe if research were done, an issue would be found.

You know what..these doctors know NOTHING and it's a little scary. I am 34 yrs old and this has been happening since I was 17-18 so it's obviously nothing to worry about. The problem cant be tight clothes, not having sex for certain periods of time, high protein intake, or whatever other GUESSES these doctors make (because the problem would not go on for 15 years). Anyway, here is my guess why this occurs. During sex, I use whatever the muscle is called to "strengthen" or "tighten" my penis to make it harder. Same muscle that is used to stop urine flow. This muscle is also used to stop pre cum or regular ejaculate. So my guess is that while doing this, it is stopping pre-ejaculate to come out which is causing the semen to get "backed up" and somehow get "clumpy" or "chunky" or whatever. Why the chunks are yellow I have no idea.

Do any of you guys take multi-vitamins? I have the same issue and I have noticed if i forget to take my Energy vitamins (which btw are loaded with B-complex's), the issue goes away, but my volume drops! This same vitamin set is loaded with magnesium and potassium which the boys need!
I think personally and I am no doctor, the the gel like clumping is caused by excitmenet with no release. eg. Spontanious erections. When u get excited the prostate, and the two producing glands both become active producing there meal for the sperms travel. If we dont release it, where is gonna go...The body reabsorbes and I think this reabsorption, isnt taking it all back in, leaving behind a gel like substance behind. So on your actuall next release, ur pushing out this jelly.
Im not concerned and my doctor says its normal. He has no explanation for it other then he himself has the same issue. IF its a dark yellow, my doc said thats a good sign of infection.

I thought I had ball cancer or some weird sexually transmitted disease from venus. when a girl has a chunky gummyworm like glob stuck to her inner thigh or somewhere else, its a bit embarrassing when she asks you what the heck it is. this thread has just taken a 'load' off my chest. haha. :) I eat steak and hamburgers and chicken wings like clock work. I have to masturbate daily. Mine is so bad that if I don't jerk it for 2-3 days then it comes out after I pee whether I want it to or not. And its really embarrassing...I hate condoms but I use them just to hide the tapioca from women. And instead of being completely cylindrical mine is kind of like...stringy, with branches off of it. OK, I am not sure if this is the same or not. My ejaculate is not like pudding and it doesn't hurt. It seems normal, perhaps a little more clear than usual. But it's the little bits of whatever that have me concerned. These are little, like 1/16" by 1/8'" (or a millimeter by 2 millimeters) and there's may be 3 to 5 of them of varying, but generally the same, size. They look like clear jello bits. They're not big enough really to call chunks. I could easily not even notice, so it's possible that its been going on a lot longer, but I doubt it.
There is also a yellow tint at times, also varying but generally the same. Not sure the bits are yellow but perhaps its the fluid they are in.
Anyway, the biggest thing new in my life is a baby. However, this only just started maybe a week ago and the baby was conceived 18 months earlier. So I know I was fertile at that time. But, I am getting very little sleep and I am major stressed out about money. I figured it was due to stress.
I masturbate almost everyday and that's been for 30 years... 43 now. My diet is whatever I can find but generally normal, if carry out and cereal is normal.

I have the same issue with chunks in my semen. It doesn't hurt me at all when i ejaculate or abstain for any period of time. And I have 2 kids conceived after I started experiencing the chunky issue so its not a sign of infertility. I've never been to a doctor about it because it never really bothered me. In fact, the release I get when I ejaculate is more intense and more pleasurable the larger the chunks are. I've noticed they are more prominent when I'm slightly dehydrated. Anyway stop worrying fellas. Theres nothing wrong with your nuts.
