Hi there Mommy!

Wow, this is complex!  You could have gotten pregnant the first time you had sex 3 weeks after giving birth but say that was unlikely because if you told your doctor you had sex before the standard "six week" recommendation, he would have given you a pregnancy test before putting you on BC and it was enough time to test positive. Plus you got what sounded like a period because it lasted for 7 days.

That being said, you are currently exhibiting symptoms of pregnancy.  Even if you took your birth control perfectly, birth control does not become effective for at least 30 days of consistent use.  So, to prevent pregnancy the first month of use, you must use a condom as back-up.  If you are pregnant, it would probably be from the weekend you forgot to take your pills.  If you are close to what should be your next period (within 7 days) I'd take a pregnancy test. If it's negative wait a week and test again.  If it's negative again, you're likely in the clear!

I was just telling another poster that my neighbors have 5 kids who are all 10-11 months apart in age so it's very possible to get pregnant right after giving birth!  Baby girl, might me a big sister already!

Best of luck, let me know how the test turns out!
