I fractured my sternum at around age 11 and am now 34. I had been having chest pains and inflammation around the right side of the sternum. It comes and goes and my GP says its costochondritis. I've been through a cardiac workup and everything was fine. I'm just wondering if the sternum fracture could have left me prone to costochondritis. Thanks.

I had a bike injury in my youth (flipped over the handle bars while turned in toward my chest) I never was treated in my youth, but as an adult in my 30's I was just diagnosed with costochondritis.  Several doctors have outweighed heart, or other serious chest problems.
