Hello, I have an annular tear at L5/S1 and work 10 hours a day sitting down ..had the condition two years plus now.....think I did alot of damage playing football on holiday a couple of years later still in alot of discomfort and makes me very grumpy by time I get home...had 3 back injections(second one worked) third one went pear shape..all injections done privately...so hope now the NHS will pay for one injection. My consultants/prospective surgeons advise against all surgery....on naproxen(doesnt do much) and cheap paracemtal....had tramodol..not made any difference....MRI scan just picked up tear with good height....physio defo helps...but £32 a pop is alot of money each week to pay! who has had surgery at l5/s1? also, people that have had surgery the surgeons say that if you have had no problems in the first twelve months you should be ok! any advise anyone?

Sounds very similar to my story!
Tired of getting the run around myself, I've got pain and weaknesses in both legs but drs say that can't be with l5s1 disc bulging with annular tear, well I'm here to tell you YES IT CAN!
I'm not lazy either, never have been, sure don't want to start now!
Its taken me years to get something finally done thats,in MY best interest!
I have been to Drs in 3 states and have finally found a group that truly cares!
On my way for an MRI now!
