I'm a 45 yr woman who had a left sided laminotomy at L5-S1 in 2005. I have had 3 good years, but most recently I have had severe pain on the left side lower back that continues down the leg to my toes I also have numbness and tingling on and off in my leg and toes.

I had an MRI concluding that there appears to be a focal left posterolateral disc protrusion at L4-L5 compromising the left lateral recess and proximal left L4-L5 neural foramina.

I have been referred to a nuerosurgeon which can't see me for a month ...has anyone had a similar experience and what was the recommended treatment and have you been able to get relief? I dread a second surgery but feel that's what I am in store for. Any comments greatly appreciated. It really sucks to be 45 and feel 85!!!!
