I am a 26 year old female and have had large amounts of blood passing when I have bowel movements. This has been happening for about 10-11 years now and has progressed in the last couple of years. I hardly ever go to th bathroom without bleeding and never have a regular bowel movement. I am either constipated for a week followed by bad pains and very watery diarhea and have the runs constantly with visible blood clots in the stool. I also have a sick to my stomach feeling during the day and then feel like I'm starving at night. I get migraines that last for days and sometimes seem to come with the constipation. I always feel like I have to go and probably have about25 bowel movements a day and most of them consist of all or partial blood and very thin stool. I have been in and out of emergency rooms for ten years now due to the fact that I am anemic and the doctors don't seem to care .. They have even checked me for hemmrhoids and I hadd none. They basicly send me home and tell me to see a gi doctor but I had no insurance and no money. Recently I was approved for medically needed Medicaid and after a bad spell went to the er again. For the first time the doctors took me seriously as my CBC was dangerously low. They did a stool test that came back positive for blood and referee me to a gi and have a colonoscopy done right away. I can't get in to see him for a couple weeks and I am freaking out and don't know what to do .. Does any one know what this could be besides cancer ? I have 2 young children and I am scarred that it has been to long to have not been diagnosed..
