I’ve just heard that daughter of my good friend get polio. I was surprised because I know that it is a very rare. So, I don’t know what to think, maybe it’s not so dangerous. I can’t remember what consequences of polio are. Can somebody tell me could polio cause limb deformities?

Yes. The paralytic polio causes limbs to appear loose and floppy and often comes on suddenly and usually is worse on one side of the body. Any limb or combination of limbs may be affected. Children under age 5 are most likely to become paralyzed in a single extremity, while in adults paralysis of both arms and legs is more common.
