My girlfriend is a week late for her period. She says her stomach hurts. Like sharp pains, constantly, but nothing like cramps. Some nausea. She has had the stomach pain for almost three days! At first, I thought she may be pregnant, but three days of sharp stomach pain, and nausea doesn't sound like pregnancy. If she is pregnant, she would only be like one week. This is why these symptoms are scaring
me. Could it be a cyst? or even a tubal pregnancy? (don't know how long it takes to feel the effects of one).

Note: She has had an early miscarriage before. (If that even matters?)

I know she should go to the Doctors, but she won't go! :-(

Hi hon: Ok if she is a week late for her period, and IS pregnant she will be classified as 5 weeks pregnant, not 1 week. They always take it from the date of your last period. Because she could have become prgnant when she had her period. Cramps and nausea are VERY common in pregnancy. IF it is a cyst on her ovary or a tubal, there wont be just cramping she will be begging you to take her to the hospital. A tubal is LIFE THREATENING!!!! so no messsing with that. Because she is 1 week late, this is the perfect time to take the test. The longer you are pregnant, the higher the hormone levels. So to put your mind at ease go get a test. They are EXREMELY accurate. Now the bad news, IF it is a tubal, there is still a pregnancy so it will still show up postitive. So she and you should both monitor her pain. And if it gets worse, or she has a fever, get her to the doctors/hospital right away OK? Good luck and health
