I've lived with a clit cyst for the past 5 years. Eventually I plucked up courage to see a gyne specialist who said it was only the second one he'd seen ever. So, I thought they were rare. Having seen the posts they appear not to be so rare. Mine last about 5 days. They start with a bit of soreness, then start to fill with paste-like stuff, then get swollen and painful, like a dragging ache and then they burst and pus, blood and fluid comes out. Such a relief. I've just had one that didn't go to plan and got very big and infected and I ended up in hospital. They drained it and gave me antibiotics. It forms in a capsule but they won't remove it as it's too vascular and I might bleed profusely. So I'm stuck with it.

I am currently having 2 painful cyst to the right and just above my clitoris. I never had it outside of having really passionate and long sex. My doctor told me it's a blocked gland/duct. Today I have two and I am just tired of it too. Wish I know how to stop it from recurring.

I get these often too. And man do they hurt. I have one now. My gyno told me warm compress 2 to 3 times a day. It feels likes it going away some.

I am 57 years old and suffered with boils and nasty pimples around my vaginal area since I was about 19 I’d say. It wasn’t until yesterday though that I noticed a small, hard lump to the left of my clitoris. I tried squeezing it, but boy was that sore. So I’ve left it alone. Reading through these posts, if it is the same (and it sounds it!) I’m dreading the next few days! Glad I’m not alone anyway. Oh the joys of being a woman.

Try putting witch hazel on it when it gets irritated. They have whitch Hazel pads at any pharmacy. It works for pimples on your face too. It acts to bring down swelling and keep things clean. They usually give which hazel to women after labor as well.

Hi, just wanted to drop in and share my experience. First, I’m so sorry to learn this is happening to other ladies out there! It’s a relief to know I’m not alone but my Gyn said the clitoral abscesses are so uncommon, he’s only seen them 3x in his 30+ year career, and I’m the 2 out of the 3. I thought I was some kind of freak! I’m sorry for the pain you’re experiencing bc I know first hand how excruciating and embarrassing it can be. The first time it happened I was about 31 and my Dr said it was likely due to some kind of cut that became infected. He suspected it was from my husband using his hand during foreplay. He said it was a flukey thing and drained it. He gave me antibiotics and it healed up. I was good for about 4 years - until 3 weeks ago when it happened again. This time I had no explanation... No sexual activity or anything out of the ordinary aside from using tampons for the first time in like 8 years. This time it burst and drained which terrified me. I saw my GYN again and he said to use hot compresses and take antibiotics. After my follow up I was diagnosed with a yeast infection due to the strong antibiotics. I’m recovering and trying not to freak about it happening again but feel anxious. It’s very painful and hard to explain to the boss when you need time off and why you can’t sit or stand comfortably. Anyway, take care and best to all of you!!!! I hope we can all find a permanent fix that works for us. Blessings! ~L

I never thought I’d have so many problems with my vagina:(
For about 5 years I had been dealing with bartholin cysts/abscesses in the same area. I’ve seen multiple doctors and ER’s. My vagina has been sliced open multiple sides near the opening and once on the outside to drain the cyst, which was only causing more damage. I finally got the cyst removed this last summer by a wonderful doctor. However before she cut me open she thought she was only going to do a partial cysectomy, and ended up removing about a 3mm mass. The recovery was rough, and the pain went from the bottom of my vagina all the way near the top of it.
I don’t have sex. Probably 4 times since October.
Now the pain has shifted, I believe I’m acquiring a cyst near my clitoris on the same side as my previous cyst.
This stuff really puts me down, it’s so painful and it’s difficult to get a straight answer or cause. I’ve come accustomed to burning the c**p out of my bag with hot compresses/ sits baths/ etc.
honestly I feel like this is caused by tight clothing or irritation from clothes.

I’ve been checked for std’s, I don’t have sex, I took out my birth control, I don’t wear tampons or pads.

I love wearing jeans but I feel like even they are just getting to restrictive. I’m supposed to go out of town for my brothers wedding and now I have this crippling fear that it will double in size and be excruciating. I wish there was more literature on these types of things.

And if I had any advice, talk to your doctor and ask them to be clear and concise BEFORE they try to cut you open or drain it. Most haven’t seen things like this before, which i find weird because the more I read about other women’s stories the less “uncommon” they sound.
If you feel your doctor isn’t as informed as you like, or say that its not very common think twice before you let them start poking at you.
I always ask a new doctor “how many of these have you seen”

I finally found a great ongyn but even she wasn’t aware of how severe the situation was until she got
In there.

So I hope this smaller new thing goes away in a few days with compresses.
I wish the best to all of you
