I could really use some help. I would like to know something about cardio myopathy. My father who is 75 years old was recently diagnosed with dilated cardio myopathy. Though he won't admit it, he is pretty shook up by entire situation. So, I thought it would be best to get some info on the subject in order to make things clearer.

My grandmother suffered from heart problems couple of years ago. I think it was the same diagnose your father has. Anyway, I know that cardio myopathy is the heart muscle disease. Heart's main function is blood pumping and that function is partially disabled in this illness. Dilated cardio myopathy is a nonischemic cardioyopathy where damaged muscle fibers cause dilatation of heart chambers. I won't lie to you, this is a serious illness, and in the best case, patient live for another 10 years after the diagnose. My grandmother lived for five.
