about two years ago I noticed my stomach was getting distended, slowly.I did not worry too much because I still could suck it in. Then I noticed that it kept getting distended...and I started belching a lot more than I usually did. So about a year ago I got a colonscopy and and I also got a scope put down my throat into my stomach. Both tests were negative but the colonscopy showed three benign polyps that were removed ;that I had a Hial-hernia, and that my stomach was very red or inflammed. I had no stomach cancer, and I was given prevacid to take . That helped some but my stomach is still distended a lot , and is uncomfortable. This may sound silly ,but it feels as if there is another stomach on the outside of my ...regular stomach and that it has drawstrings that pull and make me uncomfortable most of the time. For the most part my bowels are regular, but sometimes not too distand after eating I must visit the bathroom ...almost like clockwork.

Can you give me your thoughts. I am 60 years old.

Oh you have already done pretty much of the tests. According to all of the results, it seems like everything is okay but still you feel something is wrong in there. I really sympathize with you as I have been through similar with my mother who also had some troubles with her stomach, her stomach was constantly bloated and had a constant diarrhea, she was taking some pills to make her stool firmer and this helped a bit but still the bloat didn’t go away. Her condition was persistent and she couldn’t live with it comfortably and she had to do something so she went through various examinations, doctors advised her this and that but nothing much was achieved. She was old and her organism couldn’t deal with this condition very well. She was once told she could have had the irritable bowel syndrome, which is described as a group of symptoms in which abdominal pain is associated with a change in the bowel pattern, it could be more loose or frequent, or diarrhea and constipation. You can do the x-rays and see if this might be the cause.
