Hello. I have a severe coronary disease. My arteries are narrowed. My friend recommended me something called chelation therapy. I wonder whether I have to choose between chelation treatment and regular treatment or I can undergo both. What is your opinion about this? I would gladly hear it out. Thanks, guys.

Hi. Chelation therapy hasn’t been scientifically approved. It uses EDTA, chelation agent that binds calcium. It is believed that it can clear calcium from atherosclerotic plaque. This therapy isn’t quite safe. It can cause some serious side effects like bone marrow depression, kidney failure, convulsions, cardiac arrhythmias, low blood pressure, respiratory problems, etc. I wouldn’t replace regular treatment with this one. However, I would ask around thoroughly before making my mind. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
