last friday evening i had an after school detention it lasted 1 hour 30 mins, but this did not allow for 5 mins to get to the detention room then the teacher took the register and gave us our work to do, only then did the 1 hour 30 mins begin, i got out of school 1 hour 45 mins late, i thought we could do homework in detention but we all had to write an essay on why we were being punished, my essay was on the importance of behaving properly in class, when i got home i had then to do homework so i had no freetime last night, my mum says thats the point of the punishment opinions please ?

I think you should be able to do homework,cos when you got home late you wouldn't be able to have any free time,to see your friends ,as a teenager ,it's important to see your friends,so I think homework should be allowed

i kept messing around in class, my teacher told me several times to stop or i would be punished with a detention, i ignored her, in the end she got fed up and said THATS IT DETENTION it was so long and boring ?

my older sister says that detention is a punishment and its only right that those in detention should be giving work to do, ie PUNISHMENT essays or lines and homework shoulod NOT be allowed ?
