Cystic fibrosis gene mutations M470V

My husband and I went through genetic testing before starting my fertility treatment and I did have M470V mutation, among other things. My husband does not. As far as I understood the explanation, in order for our child to possibly have cystic fibrosis, we'd both need to be carriers. The genetic specialist who was explaining our results seemed to be not too much concerned about M470V (even though I sure was!), since according to him, it seems that this mutation is not at all uncommon. I later read that it seems like 30-50% of the US population might have it, and it can be tied to cystic fibrosis only if both parents are carriers. Luckily, my husband doesn't have it and I guess I have little option but to trust the expert that our child will be healthy.
