I want to start this off by saying that I am really paranoid about getting pregnant. I've taken Plan B three times, even though it was probably necessary one of those times. I've never had sex without a condom and I've been on the pill since I was a teenager.
This month I missed my period and I am freaking. out.
I know that in order to know for sure I need to take a pregnancy test (today, actually, since I need to start my new pack tonight if I'm okay) but I would like to go in a little less than blind with some other viewpoints besides my own admittedly paranoid one.
I'm 22 and recently started the stress machine known as grad school. Within the past month, I've pulled three all nighters and there have been several other nights where I've gotten four hours or less of sleep. I also really sucked a lot at my pill this month. I almost never took it at the same time every day and often missed it and had to take two the next day.
The other thing is that I haven't had sex since before my last period. I did fool around with a guy a few times naked, and one of those times I was really drunk. I'm positive that we did not have intercourse, but he might have gotten a little bit too close to me, which I don't really remember clearly. I don't think he came near me though.
As for symptoms, the only one I've really had is tiredness. I'm not nauseous and I don't have breast tenderness. I feel like I did gain a lot of weight recently, but I also haven't been eating as well as I normally do. I have felt some cramping in my lower back, but I feel like it may have been imaginary out of hope that I will get my period.
Anyway, what do you think? I know that the lack of sex/symptoms is probably a good sign, but I've never really missed or been late for a period since starting the pill, so it's really freaking me out.
Thank you for any help.

Hi disaster, first of all, messing around with your pills is not good, which i'm sure you already know. Your period is probably late because of that. When you forget a pill, take two, forget it again, take two more, you are throwing yourself totally off kilter. You MUST remember to take your bc everyday at the same time. I'm sure you have a cell phone so set the alarm on it, you have to do something to remind yourself daily.
I don't think your pregnant. The back pain could be a sign that your period is trying to start up. Stress and aggrivation, a hectic and busy schedule accompanied by little sleep can disturb your cycle. Aside from forgetting your bc, you are taking every precaution to safeguard your self agains conception, including using a condom/pill together.
Knowing that you are not 100% -positive that one night of drunken sexual activity could have lead to possibly anything, it's probably a good idea to take an HPT. If it comes up negative i would give my doctor a call to see if he would want to do a pregnancy test in his office. I would hate to tell you to start your pack with a remote possibility that you may be pregnant.

Thanks for the response. I just took a test and got a negative!! the pack came with two, so I'll try the other one later on just to make sure. You mentioned not starting a new pack if there was a chance of pregnancy, is there a reason for that? Could it mess up the results or something?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Doctors will tell you that if you think you are pregnant, not to take your bc as it could be harmful to the fetus.
Just for a little piece of mind, give you doc a call and see what he/she may suggest. I am not a doctor but i do know that birth control pills are not to be used if your pregnant. As i said earlier, i don't think your pregnant from the description of your post, but sometimes when we have had a bit to much to drink we can't remember much.
