"your weight staying at the same weight means your metabolism has slowed down (if you are not eating and you are not losing weight.)"

Thank you, you answer my question that recently starting to ruin my life. I've been on a very low calory diet and my weight has been fluctuating a lot since I starve then binge starve then binge in an endless cycle. Last year I've been dropping from 58kgs to 55kgs in 2 months and it stuck, then I tried Mayo diet which ruined my body so much that I got hormonal problem plus serious gastric problem. Then I stop dieting and started to eat normally that leads to 56kgs in a month. On December 1st last year I started on dieting again and have lost only 5kgs in 3 months (can you imagine how slow my metabolism is). Now I'm currently 163cm tall and 51kgs and my weight doesn't even bulge down to my target 48kgs. I even gain a kg to 52kgs today in just 3 days because I eat a few more due to my gastric problem. I'm sick of living like thia.

Another C & Sing here, and I thought that I was the only one who ever thought of this

I have been doing this for years as a way to enjoy sweets without gaining weight, over time (hard to how long) I started to gain weight in addition to being diagnosed as having 3 ulcers (all at one time) the other day after seeing the doctor he said the 3 ulcers were cleared up but now I have multiple small ulcers.

So my advice to anyone don't start it, if you're doing it get off of it because it does seem to have a lot of adverse health effects

To everyone THANK YOU for posting your information

Hi All, I used to CHSP and I'm now 90% free of it :) I researched and learnt how it was hurting my body. Using this knowledge, exercise and mindfulness helped me as I think it is a self soothing type activity alongside eating disorder.
I've written a short kindle book about how to beat CHSP eating disorder. I am a within healthy weight and haven't put on loads of weight as I feared. I actually look healthier now and I've learnt to deal with stress and anxiety in other ways. Good luck :)

That's BS. Sure, starvation mode is real. Your metabolism will slow down. But, unless you are absorbing more calories than you burn during a resting state, it is not possible to gain weight. Your weight gain had to be a result of prolonged binging after your fast.

I've been doing this for over a decade and I admit it is a very bad habit. I've gained ten pounds despite cutting out sweets and junk foods which I used to consume. Also I've gone low carb and very low carb and tried intermittent fasting and fasting, and eating at a deficit which should cause weight loss. CS seemed like a brilliant idea at the start. However, the effects on me are bloating, and I feel very full despite not swallowing all but tiny amounts. I can't prove the exact science behind why CS causes fat storage but in my experience it is true. I want to quit and save time and money.

There is actually a lot of scientific backing, and it is the premise for many treatments. You can actually absorb calories through your mouth, especially sugar. I am an ER doc and when we get patients who are losing consciousness due to low blood sugar we put a little glucose gel on a cotton swab stick and put it in their mouth right next to their cheek, while we set up IV fluids. Also you can think about sublingual drugs, which are drugs that you stick under your tongue so they can be absorbed quickly. I understand that many individuals without extensive training/studying/knowledge of medicine may think the concept of absorbing calories/sugars etc through your mouth is absurd, but it does happen. I am not here to belittle anyone, I just want to help you all on your journey so you don't end up harming yourselves or completely halting weight loss in the long term. Good luck to everyone who is battling an eating disorder, my heart truly goes out to you as I have had quite a bit of personal experience with it. I hope this post was helpful, and if I offended anyone please know it was not my intention.

Guys anyone has a tip how to stop? I guess lot of us - who have this ugly habbit - know its not healthy and we know the calories are absorbing, at least I know it. The problém is I am not able to stop it, even I fight every day. It even seems ridiculous and stupid to me to "eat" this way, I would advice everyone to stop it, focus on your real life and forget to care about how u look like... Blabla easy to advice, but I chew and spit as well. My problém is not lack of information, but I am not able to influence my behavior, I have no control, mostly at night. For example I go out, enjoy the evening, all is fine, but I come home and do it, my brain and control turn of.. Psychotherapy didnt help me... Any tips how to overcome this?
