My neighbour has been diagnosed with lupus. It all started when his kidneys failed to filter his blood. At the end, he ended up on dialysis. I know that lupus can affect kidneys, but I have no idea it can be so serious. I was hoping to get some more info here. What kind of kidney damage is it? I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks.

Kidneys can be affected in lupus. I cannot tell you the exact percentage. Immune cells usually attack glomerular membrane in kidneys. The fluid filtration in kidneys is affected. Both kidneys are affected equally. These people keep the fluid and their blood pressure rises. They also lose proteins. I cannot tell you more details. You should contact an expert. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
